Priyanka Chopra, who is making her big Indian cinema comeback with SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, has revealed that she was thrown away from Bollywood movies in the past. Here is what she said, appearing on a podcast: "Not something I talk about too much, but I have had people who have taken films away from me because I might not agree with them, or I might not have, you know... I have not, may have let myself into the same situations with others, which they may have been used to, you know, in catering to people and stuff like that."
The international star actress has, in the past, hinted at male Bollywood stars showing her the exit door. It's also rumoured that Shah Rukh Khan's wife, Gauri Khan, got her fired from a prominent film project. This was when she called it quits and migrated to Hollywood cinema.
In Varanasi, Priyanka plays Mandakini, an action-centric, dramatic role opposite Mahesh Babu.
