Confirmed: Clint Eastwood calls it a day

Clint Eastwood is now officially retired. An interview with his son, Kyle Eastwood, has confirmed that the legendary filmmaker has officially stepped away from the director's chair. Kyle noted that his father is enjoying retirement after an incredibly rare, six-decade run in Hollywood.

"He is retired now, he is 95 years old. I was lucky to be able to work with him on so many films," Kyle said in November last year. The quote didn't gain massive traction immediately. It resurfaced widely yesterday, marking Clint's 96th birthday.

So, Clint is not looking for that "one last script". The 2024 legal thriller Juror #2 is his definitive final movie. Eastwood completely stepped back from the public eye during its release. He skipped press tours and festival appearances altogether.

Clint Eastwood helmed nearly 40 feature films. It's a monumental milestone in Hollywood. "He essentially outworked every modern cinematic norm, remaining a sharp, independent filmmaker long after most would have called it a day," a critic once wrote.
