Hollywood is witnessing a shift as legendary directors embrace artificial intelligence. Two iconic filmmakers are into AI.

Martin Scorsese recently made headlines by backing an AI startup. The veteran filmmaker intends to use the technology for storyboarding. He believes these tools will push the bounds of creativity and deliver richer experiences for audiences worldwide. He told Variety that he utilized 3D for Hugo (his 2011 movie) and de-aging technology for The Irishman (his 2019 outing).

James Cameron has joined the generative AI movement. The visionary director behind Avatar and Titanic joined the board of directors at Stability AI. "Cameron sees the fusion of generative text-to-image technology and computer-generated imagery as the natural evolution of cinema," a recent Hollywood media report says.

This trend of using AI is rapidly growing across the industry. Other prominent filmmakers like Tyler Perry, Robert Zemeckis, Darren Aronofsky, and Tim Burton are also adopting these tools. They use AI to de-age actors in real time, generate concept art, and streamline production logistics.
