The web series marks his debut in production while he continues to star in the project. "Auspicious beginnings as I step into the second chapter of Dhootha and my first step as a producer. Onwards and upwards. Here is to the magic ahead," Chay wrote on X.
This trend gained momentum in recent years. Actor Nani pioneered with the launch of Wall Poster Cinema around 2018. His banner has successfully produced films like Awe (2018), the HIT franchise (HIT: The First Case and HIT: The Second Case), and Court – State vs a Nobody (2025).
Vijay Deverakonda's King of the Hill Entertainment was announced in 2019. The banner supported Meeku Maathrame Cheptha and Pushpaka Vimanam.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu debuted as a producer with the horror-comedy Subham (2025) under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures. She now awaits the release of Maa Inti Bangaram.
Rana Daggubati, with prior experience through Spirit Media, continues active involvement in recent Telugu and Tamil projects. The banner is into backing indie movies more.
Other actors like Niharika Konidela have also shown interest in production roles. She has produced Committee Kurrollu and Raakaasa so far. She is currently bankrolling Varun Tej-starring Bhari.
