Peddi, which opened in North America in more than 750 locations, is on its way to becoming a flop there. As per Prathyangira Cinemas, it has grossed more than $.2.7 million in four days. However, this is nowhere close to indicating that it will fetch profits by grossing the required figure of $6.5 million.
The film should have outperformed Game Changer by a huge margin with its premiere and opening-day collections. That would have made for a desirable start. The suboptimal start, however, meant that the momentum was never there.
The Ram Charan-Buchi Babu Sana sports action drama, however, has been a strong performer in Nizam and Andhra Pradesh. As per Vriddhi Cinemas, it grossed Rs 292 Cr in the first four days worldwide.
Monday's collections are strong. On BookMyShow, in the afternoon, 14K tickets got sold on the ticket-booking platform for noon shows. "For a working day, this is big. Peddi continues to strike boundaries even on weekdays," the makers said.
Peddi is backed by Mythri Movie Makers. It co-stars Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu, Jagapathi Babu and others.
