In Anumana Pakshi, the male lead is not a doubting Thomas but a paranoid, psychologically stunted youngster who is perennially anticipating dangers. What if a piece of cloth you donated becomes the raw material for a black magic ritual? What if your maid is a mermaid in the disguise of a human? The premise seems eccentric enough to attract attention.
That said, the tonality and aesthetics (the generic visuals and colour palette) don't inspire much confidence. Also, actor Rag Mayur playing the titular role looks playful rather than semi-depressed. After movies like Mithra Mandali, Keeda Colaa and Paradha, there is certainly nothing home to write about him.
Merin Philip, who plays the male lead's romantic interest, looks like she has got the talent (she looks certainly good). Prince Cecil once again lands a prominent role after Tillu duology. The film also features Anannayaa, Charith, Brahmaji, Raasi, Ajay, and Mast Ali.
The entertainer is directed by DJ Tillu fame Vimal Krishna, who has a grasp on the craft. Produced by Rajiv Chilaka, Meghhaa Chilakka, Sneha Rajesh Jagtiani, Vihaan Dand, and Sricharan Marneni, the film's music is composed by Sri Charan Pakala.
Anumana Pakshi will head to theatres on July 10.
