Producer Satish Venkata Kilaru has said that 60% of Peddi's total budget of Rs 350 Cr was spent just on production. The share of the fees of actors and technicians was 40%.
With Rs 210 Cr, the kind of visual quality that can be achieved is enormous. Many Bollywood and Mollywood movies come with a superior look at half the cost. The most recent example is that of Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar.
The production of Peddi required the construction of 24 massive sets from scratch, including a 20-acre sugarcane factory in Mysore and a completely reconstructed hill-station village built in Hyderabad. Yet, the action scenes seem to take place in a regular movie set. Yet, the wrestling and running track stretches seem to have been shot in green matte backgrounds.
It would be a mild statement to say that something doesn't add up. It's likely that the total budget of Peddi is about Rs 200 Cr. The budget was likely reworked after the failure of Game Changer last year.
