Director Nag Ashwin has shared a precise update on the production of the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. According to the filmmaker, regular shooting for Kalki 2 is expected to commence either in August or September this year.
He added the team is aiming for an extended filming schedule to complete a major portion of the movie in one stretch. He revealed that much of the groundwork for the sequel has already been completed, including pre-production preparations and the writing process. Some scenes involving Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have already been shot. Prabhas will join the shoot after wrapping up Fauzi.
The director expressed confidence that the sequel’s shoot would progress faster than the first installment due to the extensive planning already in place.
When Nag Ashwin says they may start the "regular shoot" in August or September, he is referring to the commencement of the main, continuous production schedule.
Kaki 2 is likely to feature both Sai Pallavi and Alia Bhatt.
