Indian cinema has never seen anything quite like this. Alpha puts Alia Bhatt and Sharvari at the centre of a big-budget action entertainer. Two women. Leading the chaos. Carrying the spectacle.
Alia calls it one of the most enjoyable experiences of her career. "There was something really exciting about stepping into this world of action, scale and adventure," she says. It pushed her into territory she hadn't explored before. And she loved every bit of it.
That matters more than it might sound. Female leads in Indian cinema have long been sidelined in the action genre. They appear, but they rarely command. Alpha flips that entirely, thanks to Yash Raj Films Spy Universe franchise. In Alpha, both women drive the stunts, the stakes, and the story. As Alia puts it, the film is a "celebration of attitude, regardless of gender".
Fan theories have been swirling since the first look dropped. Many believe Alpha connects directly to the Tiger and War universes within YRF's spy franchise. Some speculate Sharvari's character holds a secret that reshapes the entire timeline. Others are convinced the film sets up a crossover that Bollywood has never attempted at this scale. The trailer, unveiled recently, has drawn enormous attention online. Viewers have praised its kinetic energy and the sheer confidence of its two leads. Comments have called it a "game changer" and a "long overdue shift" in how Hindi films frame heroism. The action sequences, in particular, have been described as genuinely thrilling. Shiv Rawail has wielded the megaphone.
What makes all of this land is the atmosphere on set. Alia speaks warmly about the director, the action team, and the crew. She says she genuinely looked forward to going to set every single morning. That kind of creative joy tends to show up on screen.
