On Thursday evening, Tamil superstar Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan made a joint appearance at a high-profile wedding reception for a producer’s son. Their arrival together is being widely interpreted as a definitive move to quell speculation and provide a tacit acknowledgment of their rumored relationship.
It's known that Vijay's wife, Sangeetha, has applied for divorce. In her petition, she alleged that her husband has been in a relationship with an actress. The petition didn't name her. However, it has always been evident that Sangeetha was referring to Trisha.
Conventionally, Vijay should have waited until the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections before going public with his relationship with Trisha. Even if his plan is to make a public statement about his intention to marry Trisha, his political rivals are going to milk the controversy, stand with Sangeetha, and project him as a bad husband. "This is nothing but political suicide by Vijay. He is a noob in politics. Evidently, he is being misled into believing that the public like honesty rather than fake denial. That's not always how it works," a commentator stated. Or, Vijay had no better option left after Sangeetha's divorce petition became public.
Vijay and Trisha Krishnan are going to get married for sure. It has to be seen how legal formalities will be sorted out to pave way for the wedding.
