Anand Deverakonda turned a year older on Sunday (March 15). After the super-successful Baby (2023), which grossed one hundred crores at the box office, he has been quite picky.

Several years after debuting with Dorasaani and acting in Middle Class Melodies (direct OTT release during the first wave of the Covid pandemic), Anand is busy expanding his filmography's box of genres. Baby was just the first step. By the time he celebrates his next birthday, he will have scored three hits (two theatrical and one OTT).

Epic: First Semester is the first one. Helmed by Aditya Haasan, the film is a London-based coming-of-age story. With music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, the film recently gained momentum with its promotional material. Vaishnavi Chaitanya is its heroine. Vasuki and Sivaji play his parents.

Duet is the second theatrical release from him this year. Mirai actress Ritika Nayak is its heroine. Directed by Mithun Varadharaja Krishnan and produced by Studio Green, the project is an exploration of modern relationships. Backed by a soundtrack from GV Prakash Kumar, Duet is yet to lock its release date.

Takshakudu will be a Netflix original. Rooted in dark folklore and myth, it is a gritty, atmospheric narrative focused on themes of greed and survival after a village is destroyed. Like Epic, this one, too, is produced by S Naga Vamsi on Sithara Entertainments.
