Epic: Makers drop special promo on Anand Deverakonda's birthday

Epic is Anand Deverakonda's most important movie in years. As he turned a year older on Sunday (March 15), Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas treated him to a special glimpse. "That Happy Birthday from your dad that resonates in every household but it's this special one we remember," the makers wrote, sharing the glimpse.

The video clip shows Anand's onscreen mother (Vasuki) lovingly wishing her London-emigrant son a happy birthday. His father (Sivaji) offers his wishes reluctantly, evidently due to underlying tensions between them. The setting, an upscale cafe, is then transformed into a grounded celebration when the female lead (Vaishnavi Chaitanya) springs a surprise. She, along with a group of friends, performs a "Don't worry"-themed song (the 'Orey Anjaneyulu' track from the popular sitcom Amrutham). Anand's character is pleasantly surprised and joins in, singing along with the group.

Recently, a song titled Sancharame was released from the Aditya Haasan directorial. It appears that the young filmmaker is relying on the power of nostalgia in multiple ways throughout the movie. The Sekhar Kammula spirit is also evident in the feel-good treatment.

With music by Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematography by Azeem Mohammad, Epic has editing by Navin Nooli. The coming-of-age love story has production design by Avinash Kolla. The film will lock its release date soon.
