Youth was released in Telugu in the last week of March. Its first concrete box-office report is out.
The college campus romantic comedy clocked Rs 3.73 crores worldwide in the first four days. The stated figure is in Gross terms. Since the movie continues to draw family audiences, the makers expect it to mint bigger numbers in the coming days.
Written and directed by Ken Karunas, the film features him as an Intermediate student who repeatedly falls in love with girls. Who he settles with is the crux of the climax. "When we first saw this story, we knew it was a message that needed to be heard in Telugu, specifically the idea that children and parents need to bridge the gap and truly understand one another," producers Sandeep and Vineeth of E2C Talkies recently said, celebrating the movie's success.
Youth features Ken as a fanboy of the Mirchi-era Prabhas. Since the story is set in 2014, the references are specific. In the Tamil version, Ken plays a Simbu fanboy. The movie has been praised for its detailing and tasteful presentation.
