The Devil Wears Prada 2, the American comedy drama film directed by David Frankel, is a sequel to the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. Starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, the film was released in theatres this Friday.

The film currently holds a 74% to 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 62 on Metacritic.

The Guardian called it "good-natured, buoyant entertainment" that successfully revisits iconic rhythms, including a humorous cameo of Andy’s infamous lumpy cerulean knitwear. The script's focus on the decline of print media, the rise of "AI-loving tech bros", and corporate layoffs was cited by Lensmen Reviews as a smart way to make the story feel grounded in 2026.

The Independent gave a 4-star rating. "Artistry snuck in beneath the commerce", it commented. The Hollywood Reporter opined that it's "more of a clothes horse than a workplace comedy."

Some reviewers, including those at USA Today, felt the third act relied too heavily on the original's structure, making the central conflict feel redundant rather than fresh. There has been some social media backlash regarding the film's lighting and color grading, with some critics lamenting a flat Netflix-style look compared to the high-contrast cinematography of the original.
