In a recent interview, Mythri Movie Makers' CEO Chiranjeevi said that the end box-office result of Andhra King Taluka was shocking. Among all of Mythri's non-superstar vehicles since the banner's inception, AKT received the best critics' ratings. The acclaim, however, didn't translate into even decent box-office collections. Ram Pothineni was heavily disappointed with the result.
The failure of AKT has made many in Tollywood rejig the movie's release strategy. Had the movie been released for a festival like Sankranthi, it would have become a hit, they believe.
This year, Sankranthi releases did well with the exception of The Raja Saab. Ravi Teja's Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi wouldn't have amassed even half-decent collections had it been released at any other time in the year. The AKT experience and the Sankranthi 2026 results have made Telugu film producers to target Sankranthi 2027. Even a hero like Varun Tej is eyeing the festival (Bhari). The shocking result of Andhra King Taluka has certainly jolted many producers.
