Agadha: After teaser's smash success, distributors vie for theatrical rights

By amassing a whopping 10 million digital views within just seven days of its release, the teaser for MS Raju-directed Agadha has grabbed the attention of the entire industry. It follows that stakeholders in trade are also turning towards the mythical thriller fronted by Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Shravan Reddy and others.

Without relying on star value or chartbusters, Agadha is making an impact with its posters. "Everyone now believes that it's an atmospheric supernatural thriller with unpredictable elements. World-building is at its core," a source shares.

Character-intro posters made a mark before the teaser arrived. The introduction of Kamakshi as Mahadevi brings a commanding feminine energy to the story’s mystical heart, contrasted by Shravan Reddy’s Simha, who appears poised to battle unsettling, supernatural threats.

Even before the announcement of the movie's theatrical release date, inquiries are coming from all quarters. Distributors and exhibitors see a lot of potential. In 2026, Agadha is going to be one of the most in-demand outings.

Among the movie's highlights are its "confrontation sequences" and "haunting visuals".

Also featuring Bhanu Chander, Shiju, Vanitha Vijaykumar, Roshan Basheer, Shreya Rani Reddy, Viva Raghava, Robert Master, Aarna Muler, and Kanakavva, Agadha is produced on Sri Adi Varaha Productions. Edited by Junaid Siddiqui, it is shot by cinematographer Nani Chamidisetty. The music is composed by Rakesh Venkatapuram, while the art direction is done by Rajeev Nair. Chaitanya Vege has written the additional screenplay. VFX shots will be 45 minutes long.

Producer Kasi Visalakshi Balusu is yet to announce the release date of Agadha.
