Jayam Ravi, who recently changed his screen name to Ravi Mohan, today held a presser to announce temporary retirement from cinema. He has been going through an intense personal trauma following his estrangement with his wife, Aarti, whom he married in 2009. Aarti is the daughter of film producer Sujatha Vijayakumar. The couple have two sons, Aarav and Ayaan.
Today, the Tamil actor claimed that he has been disturbed and feeling harassed. The mental toll has been so severe that he recently attempted to die by suicide. It was in September 2024 that Ravi publicly announced that he was proceeding with the dissolution of the marriage after “much thought, reflection and discussion.”
Ravi today added that he hasn't been allowed to see his children, whose future he is concerned with. "Until my divorce is formalized, I won't be able to act. I have been going through a lot and I can't act," he added.
Singer and spiritual healer Kenishaa Francis was repeatedly linked to Ravi in media speculation. Neither Ravi nor Kenishaa officially confirmed a romantic relationship during the early stages of the divorce proceedings.
Last year, Ravi Mohan launched a banner named Ravi Mohan Studios to produce a quirky entertainer named Bro Code. Yogi Babu leads it as the hero. Sri Gouri Priya, Jersey fame Shraddha Srinath, and Malavika Manoj are part of the cast. Harshavardhan Rameshwar of Animal fame is its music director.
