The National Award in the Best Actor category has always been held in high esteem. When Allu Arjun became the first Telugu actor to win the Award for Pushpa: The Rise, the entire industry was stunned.
What if Ram Charan becomes the second actor to secure the Award? Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar strongly believes that the RRR actor has that potential for Peddi, a film scheduled to be released in theatres on June 4. Speaking at a presser today in Bengaluru, the Sandalwood icon confidently claimed that he genuinely believes Charan will romp home a National Award.
Charan's performance in Peddi seems to be enriched with physicality. If he excels in emotional scenes in the period action drama, he will stand a good chance, especially considering the fact that it's an inspired role. Recently, Charan said in Bhopal that many kids will look up to an Olympics dream after watching the movie. Traditionally, National Awards have feted meaningful films and inspirational protagonists. Also, Charan's Peddi is rumoured to be an amputee participating in Paralympics in the Buchi Babu Sana directorial.
That said, it is still a big IF. National Awards have been random. Nobody expected Allu Arjun to secure one for a grey-shaded role with no redeeming qualities.
