Emilia Clarke, the English actress, has done a handful of notable nude scenes over the years. Primarily, they were concentrated in the early seasons of Game of Thrones. The vast majority of her on-screen nudity occurred during her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in GoT.
She was all of 23 when she did the first season of GoT. She admitted to feeling "overwhelmed and pressured by the sheer volume of nudity expected" of her at that time. For Season 6 of GoT, she returned to a full nude scene for a single, pivotal moment. She once again did a nude scene for Breakfast at Tiffany's and Voice from the Stone. By the later years of her career, Clarke established strict boundaries regarding on-set nudity.
After years, she will once again be seen in a sex scene. Clarke awaits the streaming of Criminal on Amazon Prime Video. “I walked onto that set and saw the way that director Dee Rees was behaving, and I went to the loo and wept for my younger self, who did not get that," she told Variety.
This improvement is because intimacy protocols have improved on sets. "She is highlighting real progress in intimacy protocols without burning bridges, recognizing past sets lacked care even if not outright abusive while praising better ones. That nuance matters in an industry still evolving," an X user wrote.
