Biggest Disasters in Indian Cinema: Toxic, Radhe Shyam and more

According to data compiled by Daily culture, the BO tracker, Toxic tops the list with a staggering Rs 300 crore loss, followed by War 2 at a valued Rs 150 crore, Kanguva at Rs 135 crore, Radhe Shyam at a valued Rs 125 crore, and Game Changer at Rs 120 crore. Together, these numbers paint a sorry picture of an industry where scale no longer guarantees returns.

These failures have left visible dents on star careers. Ram Charan, coming off Game Changer, now carries the burden of expectation into RC17. Even though Peddi was a hit, it didn't make a mark in Hindi and Tamil. Suriya has been able to bounce back with Karuppu and Vishwanath And Sons to reset the narrative after underwhelming numbers. For Jr NTR and Yash, the picture remains unresolved. Neither has had a definitive response yet. Tarak's Dragon is most likely going to be a BO favourite owing to its genre and Prashanth Neel's Midas Touch. Prabhas offers the clearest contrast. After Radhe Shyam's stumble, he rebounded decisively with Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD, both restoring his commercial standing.

Box office failure is rarely permanent, but recovery is never automatic. It demands the right script, the right timing, and often, a fair measure of course correction.
