Zee 5 is redefining how audiences discover and consume entertainment. Building on its expanded content portfolio, the platform has unveiled a major transformation across Mobile and Connected TV. The new experience relies on smarter personalization, AI-led discovery, and richer visual navigation. It also offers a seamless cross-screen journey designed around the user's watch rhythm.
Zee 5 now opens doors to five distinct universes. These are Premium Entertainment, Free 5, KidZ, TV, and Sports. This division makes content discovery intuitive, immersive, and effortless.
Smarter Personalization and Built-In Privacy
Personalization sits at the heart of the reimagined platform. It helps users quickly find content tailored to their specific interests. An integrated AI add-on enables smoother interactions and smarter recommendations. To support users across devices, the service includes a next-generation AI support assistant. This tool delivers near-instant resolutions for subscription, playback, and device queries.
Zee 5 has also implemented advanced safeguards to strengthen data privacy. These best-in-class measures ensure user information remains protected while delivering a faster experience.
"A streaming platform is experienced through hundreds of small interactions, and each of those interactions shapes how audiences feel about the service," said Pramod Prakash, Chief Technology Officer at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. "Our focus was therefore to look beyond individual features and rethink the experience as a whole."
The redesign relies on a simple idea: technology should work quietly in the background so the entertainment shines.
Driven by Consumer Insights and Rigorous Testing
To shape the redesign, Zee 5 examined audience habits across India. The team combined app feedback with consumer studies and focus group discussions. They mapped complete user journeys across mobile phones and Connected TV screens. The research highlighted a clear need for a simpler interface that retains big-screen immersion.
Product, engineering, quality assurance, and design teams then held intensive Bugathons. Experts tested, refined, and fine-tuned every feature to eliminate technical friction prior to launch.
Expansive Content Portfolio and Global English Slate
Zee 5 has rapidly expanded its content library over the past quarter. The platform secured broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and 2030. It also launched a vast content slate across seven regional languages.
Now, the platform is introducing an unprecedented premium English entertainment lineup. Through strategic partnerships with PVR INOX PICTURES and LIONSGATE PLAY, Zee 5 is bringing major Hollywood cinema to Indian viewers.
Digital premieres include Normal, featuring Bob Odenkirk, Henry Winkler, and Lena Headey.
Audiences can watch The Invite, starring Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton, and Olivia Wilde.
The lineup features Anxious People, starring Angelina Jolie and Jason Segel, alongside Babies with Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick.
Other major titles include The Wizard of the Kremlin starring Jude Law, How to Make a Killing starring Glen Powell, Tony featuring Dominic Sessa, and Paper Tiger featuring Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller.
Revamping Free 5 for Viewers and Advertisers
Simultaneously, Zee 5 is reimagining its ad-supported model with a revamped Free 5 offering. The no-subscription universe covers movies, series, news, micro-dramas, anime, and Korean and Chinese dramas. It also integrates the vibrant creator ecosystem to give viewers access to diverse voices. This broader array of free content creates fresh opportunities for advertisers to connect with targeted audience cohorts.
"The next phase of Zee 5 is about making entertainment easier to discover, more relevant and more rewarding," stated Tejkarran Singh Bajaj, Business Head - Zee 5 India and AI & Innovation. "We have reimagined the product experience across mobile and Connected TV." Smarter personalisation, deeper use of AI and more intuitive discovery are underway.
In addition to the English slate being expanded to bring global cinema to Indian audiences, Free 5 is being revamped.
With these changes, Zee 5 sets a strong benchmark for modern streaming services across India.
