As is known, popular former anchor and TV personality Udaya Bhanu has marked a new milestone in her career by producing her first web series, Panchanama. Directed by Mohan Srivatsa, the six-episode project began streaming on ZEE5 on September 11. Addressing personal struggles and industry challenges, the other day, the new producer on the bloc reflected that "building a career without any backing is extremely difficult, especially for a woman. I faced many setbacks, but I never stopped trying. Whenever doors closed or opportunities were delayed, I kept moving forward instead of waiting."
On the same occasion, costume designer Bhavana Polepalli shared their experiences working on the show. Bhavana mentioned her previous work on films like Ugly Story and Life before expressing her gratitude for the current opportunity. She noted that Udaya Bhanu recognized her effort. “As a new producer, she recognized my hard work and gave me complete freedom on the sets. I am truly grateful to her for believing in me," Bhavana mentioned, also thanking the entire production crew, the streaming platform, her director, and Chief Co-Director Balakrishna for their support.
Witnessing the filming firsthand left a strong impression on the designer. Having observed the hurdles involved in making the series, Bhavana remarked, “I personally witnessed the many challenges a woman producer has to face.” She expressed hope that more women would step up as producers in the future, just as they have as directors. She also encouraged viewers to watch Panchanama on ZEE5 and support the hard work of the technical team behind the series.
Udaya Bhanu praised Bhavana for her dedication. She explained that the talented fashion designer stayed on set even after her work was finished due to her passion for the content. “The industry needs more young people like her. With her hard work and dedication, she will reach great heights in life," Udaya Bhanu shared.
Panchanama is headlined by Bharath Srinivasan. It also features Medha Reddy, Shivaji Raja, Surya Srinivas, Srija, Radhika Preethi, Charan Babu, and Shiva Karthik Danda. ZEE5 is streaming it.
