As was reported the other day, SS Rajamouli is going to ready a different version for Varanasi's international release. Its run-time will not be as long as the Indian version length. None of the actors is going to speak their lines in English. They will be mouthing their lines in Telugu.
SS Karthikeya, one of the producers of the Mahesh Babu behemoth, has admitted to not having any impossible ambitions with regards to the international release. "We definitely want Varanasi to reach a good chunk of the non-Indian audience overseas. In this regard, we have just begun the process (of promoting the magnum opus). We have a lot of ground to cover," he added.
From his words, it's evident that Rajamouli and the core team have no unrealistic expectations. The Baahubali maker has never fancied anything, always growing gradually. At this point, even he has no clue how many crores of non-Indian audiences in countries like the US, China, the UK, and Japan the film may appeal to.
7 April 2027 is when Varanasi will arrive at the cinemas.
