This week brings three distinctive Telugu theatrical releases on October 2. What they have on offer for audiences is a mix of fantasy adventure, action-packed thrills, and romance.

Don’t Trouble the Trouble, a comedy-drama-fantasy, marks Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil’s Telugu lead debut. Directed by Shashank Yeleti and presented by SS Rajamouli, it offers a "new pattern of love, a new format of love". Fahadh plays Suri, a quirky street magician and troublemaker in Hyderabad, opposite young Ssara Palekar as Divya. Saurabh Sachdeva has a key role. Music is by Kaala Bhairava. The premise? Suri accidentally triggers supernatural events with a young girl who turns out to be a genie capable of granting wishes.

Sigma, an action-adventure heist comedy-crime drama, is the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay (son of Thalapathy Vijay). Produced by Subaskaran under Lyca Productions (a banner known for costly blunders like Indian 2, Chandramukhi 2 and Vettaiyan), it stars Sundeep Kishan as a rogue treasure hunter drawn into a massive Rs 500-crore drugs-and-gambling racket. Faria Abdullah plays RJ Sam (can we expect a twist from her character?), his love interest. Supporting turns are from Sampath Raj and Raju Sundaram. Music is by Thaman S.

Thella Kaagitham is a musical romantic drama directed by debutant Ramesh Bandreddi. Court fame Harsh Roshan and newcomer Nakshatra lead, with Ajay in a key role; story and screenplay are by Nandu Savirigana (Samajavaragamana fame), music by Vijai Bulganin (Baby fame). Set against early-2000s school and intermediate life, it explores innocent adolescent first love.
