In a
recent edition of a leading English news daily, an astrologer claiming to have
contacts in the film industry wrote an article about how the way a film’s title
sounds, could mean that the film will be a hit or a flop. The astrologer further
went on to give a list of recently released or yet to be released film that
would, according to their titles, be box office hits or duds. In this page on
COMMENT PLEASE Kalyan Ram gives his opinion on that particular article and
astrologer, who predicted that Kalyan Ram’s latest film ASADHYUDU will be a
flop.
To be frank I just believe in god. I
believe that he has already decided every thing for a person when he is born, be
it success or failure. So all this astrology and all, I mean they have the
freedom. Press has the freedom to write what ever they want. Regarding this (the
article) RANAM he said will flop but it is doing above average business. And as
far as ASADHYUDU (which according to the article will be a flop) is concerned,
see frankly my opinion is that if you throw a stone in the puddle, the dirt will
fall on you. So I will not comment on that.
(On the comment that most of the
industry folk believe in astrology)
I also believe in astrology. So I won’t
comment on anything. India is a democratic country. He has the freedom to write
anything he wants. But such articles do effect on a personal level. The film
industry is very sentimental and emotional. Outside people might think that
industry folks are very money minded and very arrogant. But people here are very
emotional and this is a very sentimental field. And when people pass such
comments, the distributors and exhibitors who want to buy the movie or have
already bought the movie will face problems. And the producers will face a lot
of problem. The actor has nothing to lose financially, we act and we leave. For
us hits and flops are parts of our career, our life. But at that point of time,
for that particular movie, the producer and the distributor face a lot of
problems. Personal I don’t like such things. But India is a free and democratic
country. They have the freedom to comment.
THIS COMMENT WAS GIVEN BEFORE THE RELEASE
OF KALYAN RAM’S ASADHYUDU.
