Young and aspiring musician G V Prakash Kumar, who is also the nephew of A R Rahman, recently visited Hyderabad to promote Vikram starrer ‘Naanna’. He attended the press meet which was organised by ‘Naanna’ unit. “Naanna is a special film for me. In my 4 years of career I did 3 historical films and few other experimental films. Composing music for historical films is definitely a challenge. I learnt from my uncle Rahman how to explore music. But this film is entirely different from the ones I did so far. I tried my level best to give the audience a feel of emotional bonding between a mentally retarded father and his 6 year old daughter through background score. I composed music for few scenes even before it was picturized.”

Prakash Kumar, who is getting several offers from Bollywood, is presently doing ‘Akshay Kumar’s 3D film ‘Joker’. “Composing music for a 3D film is altogether a different experience and something which I can never forget in my life. The music in a 3D film has to be composed in such a manner that it creates three-dimensional effects to the audience. Another interesting aspect of this film is that I’m going to compose a song that is a blend together of 10 languages. There is also a line that includes Telugu words ‘Oka chindu veyyara…’. A few decades ago such experiments were done in Amitabh Bachchan’s films. And now we are doing it in this film”, said the young musician.
