Dr. Rajasekhar has turned a year older. He awaits the release of his 91st movie 'Shekar', whose second song 'Kinnera' was released today on Aditya Music at an event. Speaking on the occasion, the 'PSV Garuda Vega' actor turned emotional as he recounted how Covid-19 deteriorated his health in 2020. So much so, he was scared that it might take away his life. The 'Kalki' actor attributed his recovery to the prayers of his well-wishers and fans.

"When I contracted Covid-19, my health condition deteriorated and I was battling severe complications. I was not sure whether I would survive the virus. I lost all hopes about coming back alive and doing movies. My condition was hopeless and I couldn't even get up and walk. But if I am here today, it's because of your blessings," Rajasekhar said, adding that 'Shekar', which will lock its release date soon, has been possible only because of his wife, Jeevitha.

Jeevitha, who has directed the movie, spoke of her husband's passion for movies. "Thank God that we have received this love and support from fans for three decades," she said, adding that 'Shekar' has shaped up so well. "The first copy will be ready two days after the post-production works are completed," she added.

Music director Anup Rubens wished Rajasekhar all the best and said that Jeevitha is a supportive filmmaker.

Shivani Rajasekhar, who has played Rajasekhar's daughter in the thriller, said that parents are her biggest strengths. She said that she is looking beautiful in the movie thanks to her mother wielding the megaphone. Shivani is excited about her first theatrical release.

The event was also attended by Sameer, Ravi Varma and Bharani Shankar, who have played Rajasekhar's colleagues/friends in the movie. The last of them said that Anup Rubens' music is a key highlight, besides Rajasekhar's superb performance.

Music and cinematography are by Anup Rubens and Mallikarjun Naragani, respectively. With dialogues by Lakshmi Bhupala, the movie is yet to lock its precise release date.
