Producer Natti Kumar has re-released Dhanush's 2012 movie '3', which is known for the global sensation 'Kolaveri Di'.

'3' will be re-released in the Telugu States on Sept 8. In Telangana, about 75 theatres (shows are more in number) will be screening the movie from Thursday. As per Natti Kumar, the advance bookings are highly encouraging, with bookings to the tune of more than 50% by Wednesday night despite zero publicity.

"When '3' was released in theatres in 2012, Dhanush was not that popular among the Telugu audience. That's why it didn't do well. But now, people are vying for content," Kumar said. "The audience are coming to know about the re-release through social media," he said.

"I have been into various business ventures. But never will I quit the film industry. I have been a part of the industry for 30 years," Kumar said. He criticized the recent strike by Telugu film producers. "It didn't have any logic. The success of some recent movies, including re-releases ('Pokiri' and 'Jalsa'), proves that the audience want to watch good movies in theatres. I will always be in the film industry and will keep doing experiments. Thousands of families are dependent on the industry for employment," he added.

He announced that he will be contesting for the post of Secretary of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. He is also going to launch a new media outlet. "Our newspaper will be launched on October 5. I am a fan of journalism. It will be purely political," he added.
