Krishnam Raju shared his personal insights about staying away from films for two long years. He began saying, “The reason for not doing films was only because I’m terrible at choosing the characters that were offered to me. I always believe in doing such roles that would impress the audience. So I’m looking forward for someone who really can offer me the characters that have good scope for performance.”

He said, “Presently I’m doing a role in ‘Rebel’. When director Lawrence and people who came to watch the shooting asked how I’m able to manage to give the best performance even at this age, that rejoiced me. With the same spirit I will continue doing and will be able to do so.” “I’m also planning to do serials which will begin shortly,” he added.

About how he got the title ‘Rebel Star’ he revealed, “It was long ago a senior journalist by name Srinivas used to call me like that and the same continued. It was he who gave the title ‘Victory’ to Venkatesh also.”

Krishnam Raju announced that he would be acting and directing a film for which the script work is presently going on and the details of it will be revealed soon. But then he said, “It’s my story and it’s against corruption. I’m planning to pass on the message to the people through this film.”

He also expressed his desire saying that he is interested in making the sequel to ‘Bobbili Brahmanna’. On the news about introducing his son Karthik to the film industry, Krishnam Raju confirmed that he will be definitely be making the film with his son as hero on his banner which he will announce it later.

On the difference he noted in Telugu film industry Krishnam Raju said, “There was no growth during those days. So we could not fight back. But it’s not the same in the present film industry. We are phenomenal when compared to other film industries. So our film industry earned a special reputation now.”

When asked about his favourite hero in the present generation, he remarked, “I like Prabhas very much. If not Prabhas I like myself. I’m very happy to see him grow as a star.”

He concluded saying that he would contest in 2014 elections.
