'Raja Raja Chora', starring Sree Vishnu in the role of a thief, will head to the theatres on August 19. In this interview, actress Sunaina talks about the film, her character in it, working with Vishnu and more.

I was waiting to do a meaningful Telugu movie for years. I have been doing Tamil movies. Director Hasith Goli had watched a Tamil movie of mine before approaching me for 'Raja Raja Chora'. It's a weighty character that gave me the scope for performance.

My name in the movie is Vidya, who is a lawyer. It's fully a performance-oriented character. In real life, I am not an aggressive person. I am not an argumentative type in real life. The director gave me inputs and helped me get into the skin of the character. I had dubbed for my character but not fully. That's when the second wave came and I couldn't reach Hyderabad to complete the dubbing. So, someone else was roped in.

There is a lot of situational comedy in 'Raja Raja Chora'. Sree Vishnu is a very quiet person on set. He is a shy person but is a very friendly and nice person.

The songs are not in the expected space in the movie. We are living in an era where only necessary songs are placed in movies. I have scenes with Megha Akash as well in the movie.

Hasith Goli is a sensible director. He is young and is clear about what he wants from his characters and actors. 'Raja Raja Chora' is a meaningful entertainer. It's not chaotic and there is a purpose behind the story. It's a comedy and a family entertainer.

I am a Tamil actor primarily and my debut movie was released by a big banner. '10th Class' in Telugu was my first Telugu movie. For years, I waited for the right kind of Telugu script to come my way. I have done a variety of movies in my career. From performance-oriented characters to commercial ones, I have done them all. I have done an anthology film much before it became familiar in south Indian cinema. I have played a married woman as well and the character fetched an award for me.

I am doing 'Meet Cute', which is being produced by Natural Star Nani. I have a Tamil movie lined up as well. I speak Hindi but will do a Bollywood movie if something really good comes my way. I am a fan of all actors.
