'Vivaha Bhojanambu', of which Sundeep Kishan is one of the producers, stars Satya and others. In his latest interview, the actor has opened up about the film, how it happened, its OTT release, doing a role in it, and more. The film streams on SonyLIV from August 27.
SonyLIV has got a very good reputation in North India. I am happy that 'Vivaha Bhojanambu' is their first Telugu release. I hope our movie reaches as many viewers as possible in the shortest possible time through the OTT platform. Our movie is the right one with which SonyLIV could have debuted in Telugu. It's a family entertainer and everyone can watch it together.
The deal with SonyLIV was clinched in March itself. Due to copyright and other issues, we couldn't have sold it to someone else. The release date was finalized recently.
I fell in love with director Ram Abbaraju's story when he narrated it. I like family entertainers. I wanted a comedian to play the lead role because that's the nature of the character. We went with Satya for the same reason. I have played a small character named Nellore Prabha in the movie.
Satya has done an amazing job. He has aced it completely. I am sure that his performance will be loved by the audience. The rest of the cast has supported him a lot. And their characters are driven by the story.
The shooting time was like a festival. Dozens of artists would be present on the sets. It was fun doing the movie.
Since the film has a wedding at its core, a lot of titles we considered were linked to the word 'Pelli'. But since a wedding is like a wholesome meal, we went with 'Vivaha Bhojanambu'. Ram Abbaraju is the whole and soul of the movie and he has written the scenes inspired by real-life incidents. Coming to my character, Prabhas is into transporting people through an ambulance illegally during the lockdown.
My film 'Gully Rowdy' will be released in theatres in September. I have a movie with East Coast Productions next. I have a few other films lined up. I will be seen in 'The Family Man 3' as well.
