'Bholaa Shankar' is all set to release in theatres on August 11. Sushanth Anumolu, last seen in a negative role in Ravi Teja's 'Ravanasura', is playing Keerthy Suresh's love interest in the family action entertainer. In this interview, the actor talks about working with Megastar Chiranjeevi, director Meher Ramesh, and others. "I am looking fresh in the movie. My role is like a breeze in the larger scheme of things. It was a memorable experience to shoot for the movie in Kolkata. The memories will last a lifetime," he adds.

I have done web series, supporting roles, guest roles, etc over the years in my career. 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' came in an unexpected way. I did 'Ravanasura' because the director showed me in a different way. The character in that movie was atypical. I take on the most exciting movies that I come across.

Chiranjeevi sir is someone our generation has always looked up to. His dances are unmatched. As a child, I had the opportunity to watch him dance on sets of two movies. When Meher Ramesh offered me 'Bholaa Shankar', I found it quite interesting. I am told Chiru sir, too, liked the director's choice and gave the nod immediately. The most exciting part was getting to dance alongside him. I made sure that the opportunity doesn't slip. I extracted a word from Chiru sir, the director, and choreographer Sekhar VJ.

That hook step in 'Jam Jam Jajjanaka' was enjoyable. It had been more than two years since I danced. We all know the dancing talents of Chiru sir, Keerthy and Tamannaah Bhatia. I was careful while doing the sangeet song. It's a colourful and grand song. And the song will be one of the key highlights of the movie.

Mine is not a full-fledged role. I can't reveal the screen time of my character but it is surely not much. Nevertheless, it is a charming role. I have got scenes with Chiru sir, Keerthy and Tamannaah. Every day of the shoot was enjoyable. I and Tamannaah are siblings. Keerthy is a spontaneous actress. I have always liked her since 'Mahanati'.

Chiru sir's idea is to help his fellow artists free up. He cracks jokes and makes them feel comfortable. Although mine is a guest role, I am excited. At the same time, it is not a typical role where screen time matters. I am grateful for whatever screen time I have got in the movie. The content in 'Bholaa Shankar' exceeds the expectations of Mega fans.

By the time I joined the unit, intense portions were already shot. 'Bholaa Shankar' has been in the making for about three years. Due to the pandemic, things got delayed.

I have okayed two stories. Talks are on to advance them to the next stage. I don't want to talk about any project for the sake of it. After 'Maa Neella Tank' (web series on ZEE5), I did get a few OTT offers. I did that one to break the monotony of playing urban roles. If I have to do a web series, it has to be different from what I have been doing in films.

I don't have any regrets in my career. I always have my reasons for rejecting even those stories that I suspect might click with the audience. Those producers always empathized with my motives/reasons. They would come back to me with another story.
