Upendra plays a humanized movie star in Andhra King Taluka, scheduled to be released in theatres on November 27th. In this interview, the Kannada superstar talks about the nature of the drama in the Mahesh Babu P directorial, produced with pride by Mythri Movie Makers. He is all praise for Ram Pothineni's performance.

The wonderful emotion in the story is what made me want to do this film and play Surya. This emotion is universal and there is none who can't relate to it. Neither my character nor Ram's is the Andhra King. There is someone else who is. That's a surprise element.

Fandom doesn't rest on any logic. It's emotional in nature. Ram plays Sagar, my fan. Why do the fans love a star so much? Is the star deserving of such unconditional adulation? These questions keep being entertained by stars. This is something I do too. And that's where I could totally relate to Mahesh Babu P's story.

A movie star is human in many ways, with its share of ups and downs. Andhra King Taluka is not only commercial in terms of its ingredients but is also a human story at one level. It also talks about the disparities between the well-to-do and the have-nots. Then there are emotions, a romantic track and elevations that have come together so well.

The story narration was provided by the director in the presence of producer Y Ravi Shankar. The very narration made me want to do the film. The dialogues are so heart-felt. Soon after the narration, I shared an incident with them. The incident of a fan of mine who was inspired to launch a publication and write a book on me long after watching Upendra, a film of mine.

Ram's performance is characterized by extraordinary energy. The action sequence during the intermission is particularly captivating and is sure to give the audience goosebumps. His portrayal of a fan in that scene is remarkably authentic and truly exceptional for an established star. He perfectly embodied the innocence, vibrant energy, and mass appeal typical of a dedicated fan.

The chemistry between Ram and Bhagyashri Borse is absolutely wonderful in this film. Their love story, which beautifully captures a nostalgic, retro feeling, is genuinely heartwarming. Furthermore, the way they conveyed the local essence and cultural nuances was masterful. The director deserves high praise.

I am a fan of a lot of actors, especially Rajkumar sir, Rajinikanth sir and NTR sir. I usually become a fan of all good actors. That's the magic of cinema!

I started out as a filmmaker and then became an actor. Initially, I was overwhelmed by all the love! The love of fans is unconditional. It's not transactional. It's magical. It's nothing less than divine. It occured to me that, once we reach a certain position in life, we have to make films for them.
