Producers Dil Raju, Chadalavada Srinivas and Yalamanchili Ravichand have come together to help cine workers under a program named Kalamathalli Chedodu. Female workers, drivers, junior artists and production workers received help in the form of groceries.
Rice bags, dal, oil packets and other essentials were distributed to the workers. Tea power, Idli 'ravva', and other items were also given. They are adequate to last for a month.
The distribution program was also attended by producer Bekkem Venugopal, Ajay Kumar, Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravichand said that cine workers have been going through a tough phase due to the pandemic. There are 4,000 cine workers in Tollywood, he added. So far, 600 workers have been supplied with essentials for free.
Food groceries worth Rs 2,500 have been made available through a super-market the donors have collaborated with. More help will be rendered during the pandemic phase.
Ajay Kumar said the assistance is highly needed.
