Mohan Babu blasts Censor Board Dhanlakshmi

Dr Mohan Babu, who got irked by the behavior of censor board president Dhanlakshmi, organised a press meet and showed his anger on her.

Speaking to the media in a press conference this evening he said, “How can the censor board chief Dhanlakshmi watch our film without seeking our permission. I’m very annoyed with it and will not mind asking for justice in the high court. I’ve seen Dhanlakshmi’s worst behaviour against the producers. She troubled us several times while certifying our films in the past. But I ignored her behaviour considering her as a woman. However, we were deeply hurt by her behaviour in the issue of ‘Dhenikaina Ready’. To certify our film, she demanded a letter from me, later she asked for my presence. In this way, she watched the film on the first day with four members and the very next with six members to certify the film. On the other hand, she watched the Malayalam film without our permission. How can she watch our film without our permission? Who gave her that right to do so? Therefore I complained to DGP Dinesh Reddy about it. Why is the Telugu censor board different from Kerala and Bollywood with so many rules? Are we making blue films? Are we able to watch Bollywood films with our family members? Bollywood is getting dirty day by day, but why the censor board is implementing so many rules on Telugu films. Dhanlakshmi’s attitude appears like she is the queen of censor kingdom. I’m ready to appeal in the high court on the issue of ‘Dhenikaina Ready’. I’ll not let go this issue that easily. We have even heard about ACB attacks on her husband. I wanted to know her mother-tongue and who gave her this authority. Does she really deserve that seat? I will be very happy if the Film Chamber supports me in this issue.”

He concluded saying, “Dhenikaina Ready is a big hit. The audience blessed Vishnu after many years. We are increasing 40% theaters from Saturday. We are making efforts to release the film in Malayalam in 60 theaters on 26th. The censor formalities for the Malayalam version have not yet been completed.”
