'Merise Merise', starring 'Husharu' fame Dinesh Tej and Swetha Awasthi, will be released in theatres on August 6. Its pre-release event was held on Monday at a hotel in Hyderabad. Star directors Sukumar and VV Vinayak conveyed their heart-felt wishes to the team of the romantic comedy.

Speaking on the occasion, composer Karthik Kodagandla said, "Vijay Prakash, Chinmayi, Lipsika, Anurag Kulkarni have rendered beautifully for our album. We all worked on the film like a family."

Producer Venkatesh Kotthuri said, "We are introducing Pawan Kumar as a director with the movie. This is a feel-good entertainer."

Director Pawan Kumar said, "'Merise Merise' reflects the thinking of today's youngsters. 20-something youngsters are confused. Vennela and Siddhu meet and what ensues is the crux of the movie. Their characters are sensible. Dinesh and Swetha have given their best."

Lyricist Krishna Veni thanked the music director for the opportunity to write the lyrics. She is the daughter of writer Sadasivudu.

Swetha Avasthi said, "Producer Venkatesh garu was supportive throughout the making. It was a joyous experience working on 'Merise Merise'."

Dinesh Tej said, "This is my third movie. I feel fortunate to have got to work with director Pawan. I hope Venkatesh garu continues to make movies. Swetha is a sweetheart. She is going to be a huge crush. Karthik's music is superb. We all have a special relationship with theatres. I urge the audience to watch 'Merise Merise' only in theatres."
