Actor-filmmaker R Narayana Murthy is deeply hurt. Recently, at a film event, balladeer Gaddar made a remark that has been misinterpreted by sections of media. They have written that Murthy is penniless and therefore not living in Hyderabad.

In a statement issued today, Murthy said that Gaddar offered him a lodging facility at his home during the pandemic. "When he offered money assuming that I am too poor to pay house rent, I told him that I am well off," Murthy said.

The social media lies have saddened his fans. "A lot of them have offered monetary help following the reports that I am in poverty. I am making it clear that I am not hard-pressed for money. Social media and YouTube posts have misinterpreted Gaddar's words," Murthy added.

"I have been in the film industry for 36 years. Many of my movies have been big hits. I have made crores of rupees. I have spent the money on social service activities. I am happy this way. I feel liberated when I live a simple life. I am not living in a hostel for want of money. These are lies. When I did 'Orey Riksha', Dasari garu offered me a 3BHK back then. I rejected the offer. Late YSR garu offered me 10 acres of land in Vizag for a studio. I rejected the offer. KCR garu offered me a 2BHK for supporting the Telangana government. I rejected the offer," Murthy said in an emotional video.

He expressed confidence that he will score a BO hit with 'Rythanna'.
