Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Thalaivii' is all set to be released in theatres on September 10. Its pre-release event was held on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, writer Vijayendra Prasad said that the 'Queen' and 'Manikarnika' actress was initially skeptical about playing Jayalalithaa. When the 'Baahubali' writer convinced her that she can pull it off, the actress came on board.
Director AL Vijay suggested that Kangana has given her best to the real-life character. He also described Aravind Swamy, who has played MGR in the movie, as a pillar of strength.
Aravind Swamy stated that, as he shot for the movie, he realized that he was a part of a great film. "It was a magical experience to do 'Thalaivii'," the 'Dhruva' actor added.
The lead actress thanked Vijayendra Prasad for believing in her. She was all praise for Vijay and Aravind Swamy as well.
When it was his turn, producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri predicted that 'Thalaivii' will win at least five national awards.
