'Karthikeya 2' heads to theatres on Aug 13. Its pre-release event was held in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Siddhartha said that it took a lot of time to make the epic mystical adventure. "Locations changed, years passed, and so much transpired. Finally, we have made it. Although I am smiling, I am tensed a lot. I want to thank Adivi Sesh bro for being here. 'Major' was not just a major blockbuster but also a film that proved that good content can draw crowds like a big-star movie. I want to thank Siddhu Jonnalagadda. He and Sesh have supported us voluntarily. It feels great. I thank Talasani Srinivas Yadav garu for being here," the 'Arjun Suravaram' actor said.

Anupama Parameswaran credited cinematographer Karthik Ghattameneni and the VFX team for the movie's "excellent visuals". She also lauded Kaala Bhairava's BGM, which she said is marvellous as per what she had heard.

Director Chandoo Mondeti said, "I want those in the age-group of 4-20 years to watch 'Karthikeya 2' for sure. They will learn about our culture and heritage. I grew up reading Amar Chitra Katha and our epics. Our children need to be told about our heritage. Films like 'Karthikeya 2' can create curiosity in them. Thanks to my parents, I have always shown enthusiasm to learn about our spiritual richness. Some individuals question the rationale behind 'abhishekams' to God. The ritual is inspired by the principle of 'giving back to Nature'. Without understanding the depth of a ritual, please don't question blindly. Powerful truths exist behind our festivals, rituals, and religious precepts. I also thank my wife, who has always been supportive. In the past two months, I have not even been to my residence. She never complained. I thank Nikhil garu profoundly for travelling with me with trust."

The makers confirmed that the film will also be released in all major Indian languages, besides Arabic and English.
