Under the aegis of Madālasa – Space for Divine Art, Bhava Rasa Natyotsavam – Season 1 was held in a magnificent and splendid manner on January 4th at Phoenix Arena in Hyderabad. The performances on the occasion were nothing less than a visual delight for the audience.

'Vidwan' Soujanya Srinivas (star filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas' wife and producer at Fortune Four Cinemas) presented a Bharatanatyam recital. Her exceptional dance talent mesmerized the lovers of art forms. She began her performance with Sri Vignarajam Bhaje (a Carnatic kriti dedicated to Lord Ganesha), composed by Oothukkadu Venkata Subbaiyer in the Gambhira Nattai raga. She also presented a Bharatanatyam performance to the Ardhanarishwara Stotram, composed by Adi Shankaracharya in Ragamalika raga. She then gave a splendid performance to the Tyagaraja kriti Endaro Mahanubhavulu, composed in Sri raga.

Classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam were the centre of the programme, with all performances reflecting deep devotion to Lord Nataraja. ‘Vidwan’ Manju V. Nair from Kerala presented a series of Bharatanatyam recitals, beginning with the Shivaprasada Panchakam set in Ragamalika raga. She further performed an Ashtapadi composed in Simhendra Madhyamam raga, followed by an impressive rendition of an Anjaneya kirtana in Shuddha Sarang raga. ‘Vidwan’ Swapna Rajendrakumar from Bengaluru showcased Mohiniyattam with equal grace. Her presentations included a Mohiniyattam varnam composed by Sri Thrissur Mohan Kumar in Saramati raga, as well as a captivating Tillana set in Bhoopalam raga.

The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Sri Suresh Chukkapalli, Emeritus Chairman of the Phoenix Group.
