The Warriorr's flop is a setback for crossover films

'The Warriorr' has reportedly failed to click in both Telugu and Tamil. It is ending up as a flop in the Telugu States and Overseas. The Tamil version hasn't been able to attract attention.

The failure of the film is a significant setback for crossover films. The film saw the coming together of a Telugu star (Ram Pothineni) and a Tamil director (N Lingusamy). Had it become a hit, the confidence of producers to invest in crossover films would have been boosted. Lingusamy could well have bagged a film with another medium-range Telugu hero, say, Ravi Teja.

Tamil director AR Murugadoss' film with Mahesh Babu was a flop years ago. 'SPYder' made ARM a non-entity among big stars here, especially the likes of Allu Arjun.

Currently, Kollywood's Venkat Prabhu is making a Telugu-Tamil bilingual with Naga Chaitanya as the hero. Tollywood's Anudeep KV is making a Telugu-Tamil bilingual with Kollywood's Sivakarthikeyan. The film is titled 'Prince'. 'Thank You' sees the coming together of Kollywood's Vikram K Kumar and Tollywood's Chaitanya. Let's hope these three films click!
