Telugu stars keep mum on controversial 'rape culture' Ads

Last week, two perfume Ads of a brand went viral on the Internet for their objectionable content. The Ads promote rape culture by using the brand name 'Shot' in an obscene manner. The women in the Ads are objectified and made to emote fear in the presence of four men.

Bollywood stars such as Hrithik Roshan have lashed out at the Ads. Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar and several others have also taken to social media to expose the moral vacuum of the Ads.

But Tollywood stars have stayed silent so far. One wonders why Telugu actors don't evince interest in such issues when their Bollywood counterparts do so at regular intervals.

A reason could be that our actors want to avoid controversies unless something affects them personally. Another reason might be that they are scared of being called hypocrites for doing films/scenes that glorify stalking and harassment in the name of comedy.
