Suriya joins hands with acclaimed director

Kollywood director Bala's name may not be familiar to the young generation of cine-goers in the Telugu States, but he is known for acclaimed Tamil hits 'Sethu' and 'Pithamagan', the latter of which had Suriya as one of the lead actors. The news is that Bala and versatile actor Suriya have joined hands for the latter's 41st movie.

This is their first reunion in 18 years. The untitled project will be bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya on 2D Entertainment. Suriya, who was recently seen in 'ET', tweeted that he had been waiting for the collaboration. He also described the 'Naachiyaar' director as his mentor.

Krithi Shetty, who is currently doing Nithiin's 'Macherla Niyojakavargam', Ram's 'The Warrior', and Sudheer Babu's 'Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali', is its female lead.

While nothing is known about the project, the makers suggested that the film has got an intriguing story. With music by 'Aakasame Nee Haddhu Raa' composer GV Prakash and cinematography by Balasubramaniem, the film went on the floors today.
