Trolling by Mahesh Babu's fans forces lyricist to say 'goodbye'

Happening lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry has deplatformed himself from social media. The prolific lyricist, who goes by the moniker 'Saraswathi Putra', today deactivated his Twitter account following a deluge of verbal attacks over the song 'Oh My Baby' from 'Guntur Kaaram'.

Hours before bidding goodbye to Twitter, he had a wise counsel for trolls: “One can express their opinion. Except that the song has less duration, nothing is lacking in that. We enjoy our work. We wouldn’t work well without a love of the craft. Be careful and respectful with words."

Ever since the song was released the other day, music director Thaman, director Trivikram and the lyricist have been viciously mocked by a section of vocal Mahesh Babu's fans. They found the song dull and banal. Sastry is the only one to react to the incessant trolling.

Sastry's defenders say that he couldn't withstand the toxicity and therefore had to end his stint on Twitter to preserve his sanity.
