In August this year, Vijay Deverakonda was in Chennai to promote 'Kushi'. At that time, he said that he would be doing a film directed by a Kollywood filmmaker. The 'Liger' actor didn't talk about the director's name at that time. "A film with a Tamil filmmaker is definitely happening. Whether it will be made in just one language or as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual is something we will decide later," the actor said.

The name of the director has been disclosed. It is Arun Matheswaran, who is currently helming Dhanush's pan-India event film 'Captain Miller'. Speaking to a Chennai-based media house, Arun said that the 'Arjun Reddy' star really loved the story he pitched recently.

Vijay is doing 'Family Star' with director Parasuram Petla and producer Dil Raju. The film will be a Sankranthi 2024 release. As for 'Captain Miller', it has been postponed to Sankranthi 2024 from December this year.
