'Love Guru', 'DeAr': Tough days for Tamil movies in AP, TS

The Telugu audience continue to reject Telugu-dubbed Tamil movies. Even movies with good content, such as 'Jigarthanda DoubleX', have seen a lukewarm response at the box-office in recent times.

This month, quite a few dubbed movies are coming out in theatres. Last week, 'Love Guru' and 'DeAr' were released. Of these, the former (starring Vijay Antony) has decent content. In fact, quite a few comedy scenes in it are enjoyable. The storyline is nice as well. But the film has had no takers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The less said about 'DeAr', the better. The romantic comedy-drama stars GV Prakash Kumar and Aishwarya Rajesh as a couple. The former plays a husband who is a light sleeper. The latter has a snoring problem. The film is a flop in Telugu.

On April 26, two dubbed movies are coming out: Vishal-starrer 'Rathnam' and 'BAAK'. The former is an action entertainer. The latter is a horror-comedy co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia, Raashi Khanna and Sundar C in lead roles. If even one of these movies does well with solid content, Kollywood will heave a sigh of relief. Otherwise, major event films such as 'Indian 2' and 'Kanguva' will be the only hope for Kollywood.
