'Eagle': Clarity to emerge in 24 hours

It is all but certain that four straight Telugu movies will surely hit the cinemas this Sankranthi. As things stand, the only film that might (might, not shall or will) opt for a Republic Day release instead of a Sankranthi release is Ravi Teja's 'Eagle'.

On Thursday, contradictory reports emerged from the Hyderabad-based Tollywood media, with one section saying that distributors have been asked to prepare for the postponement of 'Eagle' from Sankranthi to January 26 and the other section claiming that People Media Factory won't back off at any cost. The 'No postponement' group says that 'Eagle' will get as many as 300 screens allotted to itself in the Telugu States this Sankranthi.

So, is the release happening on January 13th or January 26th?

The answer will be out tomorrow (Friday). The buzz is that a meeting will be held under the aegis of Dil Raju, who is expected to cajole the makers of 'Eagle' to have a rethink. Earlier, the attempt was to convince the makers of 'Hanu-Man' to vacate the Sankranthi space for the mutual good of all parties involved. With producer Niranjan Reddy of 'Hanu-Man' saying no to the proposal, the only film that looks amenable to postponement is 'Eagle', which is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad.
