Thalapathy Vijay's Work Ethic: A Golden Standard for the Industry

Producer Dil Raju's recent appeal for Tollywood heroes to emulate Thalapathy Vijay's working style was interesting. Raju, who collaborated with Vijay on the film Varisu, hailed him as a "golden fish" for producers. The reason is that Vijay always gives his clear 6-month window commitment with 20 working days each month, making the timely completion of projects possible.

Vijay's disciplined and professional demeanor has garnered appreciation from various corners of the industry. Mathew Thomas, who worked with Vijay in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo, publicly lauded the star's punctuality. Thomas revealed that despite late-night celebrations on set, Vijay was consistently the first to arrive by 7 AM the next morning.

Vijay's filmography demonstrates a consistent output, with major releases like Master (2021), Beast (2022), Varisu (2023), Leo (2023), and The Greatest of All Time (2024) hitting screens in quick succession. Master was shot within 129 working days, a remarkable feat for a big-budget production. His upcoming film Jana Nayagan is also reported to be nearing completion with 95% of the shoot wrapped up well in advance of its Pongal 2026 release.

While Vijay's work ethic may be commendable, it is also true that his projects are not event films.

Vijay's Jana Nayagan will head to theatres on 9 January 2026.
