Before Avatar 3 release, James Cameron confirms a new film

Hollywood director James Cameron is currently doing Avatar: Fire and Ash. Even before the release of this magnum opus, he announced a new film as a writer (not as a director).

The Titanic and Terminator director will be writing a script for the movie adaptation of a famous novel named The Devils, penned by Joe Abercrombie. Joe and Cameron will be co-writing its screenplay. In his social media post, the celebrated filmmaker stated that the novel's rights are with him. He feels that he doesn't have to put in much effort to turn it into a film screenplay because the cinematic nature of the novel is self-evident.

Here is what Joe Abercrombie's The Devils is about: "It is a grimdark fantasy novel set in an alternate medieval Europe where magic is real and flesh-eating elves pose a constant threat. The story centers around Brother Diaz, a hapless monk." The novel seems to be nail-biting. "The Devils plunges readers into a familiar world of backstabbing politics, morally grey characters and an abundance of sardonic humour," a review stated.

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the epic science fiction film, is slated to be released in theatres this December. It is a sequel to Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022).
