F1 (also referred to as F1 the Movie) was released in theatres this Friday. The American sports drama film starring Brad Pitt as a driver who returns to Formula One racing is directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film has been flooded with glowing reviews.

Many critics have praised the "groundbreaking work" of the director-cinematographer duo in "capturing the speed and intensity of Formula 1, often without relying heavily on digital effects".

Critics noted Brad Pitt's charisma, laid-back arrogance, and ability to carry the film. Hans Zimmer's score and the overall sound design have been lauded. "F1 is an obituary posing as a hymn. It's designed to make us realise that this is the last gasp of superstardom in an age where influence is a profession rather than a halo," wrote film critic Rahul Desai.

F1 has also received negative reviews, with some critics calling out its "predictable" and "generic" nature."While the film strives for realism in its visuals, as a dedicated F1 fan, I would like to point out inaccuracies and unrealistic plot points, such as questionable racing strategies and safety car deployments," an expert said.
